How To Search Google Like A Pro
There’s no denying that Google search is an incredibly powerful tool. But like me, are you also tired of having irrelevant results at the top of the search engines? Do you search for a few keywords and continually vary the keywords until you finally find the results you were looking for? If so, I have a better solution for you. Few people are aware of all the shortcuts and tricks that help you enhance your search results. I’ve decided to share these with you in the form of a great infographic by HackCollege.
While the infographic is targeted towards college students, its tips are helpful for any Google user who wants to understand how to structure their search query to get the most accurate and relevant results.
Here are some extra tips:
Finding one OR another match
When you search for more than one keyword in Google, it will include all the keywords when searching. If you want Google to find results to match any of the keywords that you typed in, use OR. The OR has to be capitalized. Example – internet marketing OR advertising
Phone Number:
It’s bothersome when you receive a missed call from an unknown number. If you want to look up the number to see if it matches any number listed online, simple type “phonebook:” followed by the number. Example – phonebook:323 319 6318
Range
This is great if you want to find results from a certain date range for years, prices, or anywhere where you want to provide a series of numbers. You just use the “X..Y” format. Example – President of America 1960..1965
So the next time you search for a query in Google, keep these tips in mind to help you find more relevant results faster. If you have your own expert tip that I’ve missed, please feel free to share them in the comments below.
